I enjoyed documenting my cross-country move in Savannah to Seattle, but now that I’ve been here for six weeks or so, I feel like it’s time to move on. I haven’ t updated that blog much lately, because it’s the chronicle of a transition and now I’ve settled into a more day-to-day, routine existence. So I decided to start a new blog, one reflecting my current reality.
Literary–I’ll write about writing, reading, the search for freelance gigs, my own creative efforts, and what I’m reading.
And gargoyle–because I love gargoyles. I’ve always been intrigued by the idea of guardian figures so ugly that they repulse demons. I’ve managed to accumulate gargoyle statues, a gargoyle pen and holder (thanks, Kate!), gargoyle bookends, gargoyle candle holders, and even a gargoyle t-shirt. And no, I don’t think I’m a gargoyle, and I wouldn’t necessarily want to be one; let’s just say they’re the mascots of my dark side, the creative, haunted side that has such intense nightmares that it requires beings even more monstrous as guardians.
And yes, I do sleep with the lights on. Don’t tell.
Also, because this is my life, this blog will chronicle the continuing adventures and exploits of Bishop,
Zuli,
Gorey,
and Sadie.
